I believed the mat would be heavier than it proved to be consequently the wheels of my desk chair tend to get stuck in indentations of the mat. It is easier to live with its imperfections than at 84 try to get it returned.
This mat was pretty thin for use on any kind of carpet. The chair legs sink in the mat "moves" and the edges curl. Walking past I cut my foot on the edge of the mat where it was raised up. I would not recommend this mat for any kind of carpet situation.
This mat can't withstand the weight of an average person as the chair wheels dig into the mat. The mat also slides with the lightest touch. Since it will be used in a home setting I'll live with it.
I wish it were a little thicker. I have had one of these before and it doesn't seem to last very long before the middle section starts to crack and break apart rendering the whole thing useless.
