The mat is ok but it was shipped loose without any box paper covering or any kind of packing at all. It was folded in all different directions from being shipped that way. We had to lay it out with weights for 5 days to get it flat. Also I've never seen anything so dirty. it took three times to clean it and our cleaning cloths were solid black each time we cleaned it. It is very soft and the edges press down into the carpet where the desk legs sit.
This is an item that is for light duty and therefore worth the price. Miy previous one lasted almost a year before cracking. Not bad for the price. A heavier duty item would have been preferred but the store did not have any in stock. If you have a low knap carpet this should be just about perfect for you needs.
Only owned this for a week. This mat is a bit thin and flimsy. My chair wheels leave imprints in the mat even though the mat is new. The depressions also make it hard to roll my chair as the wheels get stuck and takes extra effort to get out of the dips. I suspect the mat won't last long. The carpet is short pile and dense...commercial grade stuff. I purchased a similar mat in person from Staples for my other work station but it was much thicker and stiffer which equals more durable and easier to roll my chair. I bought this online so I could not see the thinness. They don't list the thickness in the specs. I measure 2.3mm for the thin and 3.7mm for the thicker one. I would have purchased the thicker version if it was clearly marked what I was getting. I am in my chair 5-6 hours a day. I don't see this lasting more than a year. Also this is merely a sheet of plastic...why does it cost $42?
It was a little scary when came out of the box. Thought it would never lay down 3 hours later after placed on carpet and let is relax did it lay out OK. It replaces one that has been down for 16 years and had 4 large tear strips from the wheels needed replaced real bad. Good products hop this one lasts as long.
