Go heavy duty

I would suggest going with the heavy duty mat even if you have a low pile carpet (as I do). They all wear out eventually but the thicker one is worth the difference in my opinion.

I've always had one of these great mats....They last forever....I just replaced my old one after twelve years. It was fine but I wanted a new one for my new carpet and desk chair. Excellent value!

I bought this to replace one that was cracked and my chair wheels kept getting stuck in. Although this has no cracks the chair sinks into a location and won't roll unless I stand up and take my weight off the chair. I don't recommend this one. Worth the extra money to get a firmer one which will allow your chair to roll on it.

Arrived as expected flat and unrolled -- so far seems to be holding up on a medium pile carpet. I did however lay it on top of my previous mat which had started to crack. This should support it better.
