I roll my chair around quite a bit and the BerberMat is large enough that I don't roll off of it thereby saving the rug.

Cleats hold the mat in place on the rug my desk chair slides well on it. It's thick not flimsy and a nice quality. I'm very pleased.

Bought a less expensive matt at Costco and wanted to better it with this one from Staples. The quality is about the same. The does move on carpet and is not thick enough to not indent causing difficulty with rolling on the surface.

Good for the money

Good price point but thin surface. Chair wheels make dents in the surface after about 15 minutes of use making it difficult to move the chair.

Mediocre and disappointing

I purchased this product in spite of mixed reviews by others because of its mid-range price and I needed something quickly to protect new carpet but Staples was out of my first choice. Although it is intended for use on plush carpet up to 3/4" thick it moves around on the carpet in my home office. The only thing that stops it is the legs of my desk which then causes the mat to bulge up against the legs. This mat also dents badly making it sometimes difficult to roll the chair. The only reason I have not returned it a store is that I do not have time for a 40 mile round trip. In the future I will probably stay away from Staples branded products. I also had two of their "Mail Mate" shredders burn up in less than 12 months.
