So far so good

The floor mat was delivered quickly -- and in a box -- and flattened under my chair without trouble. It's on a medium-pile carpet and so far is tolerating my desk chair with no problems at all.
I needed a new chair mat since mine was cracked and falling apart. This one is a great price but you do get what you pay for. It's thinner than the last one I had and I can definitely feel the bumps each time I move my chair. I am using it on low pile commercial carpet. Hopefully it "settles" into the carpet and I won't feel the bumps but if I had known it was this thin I would have ordered a better one instead.
I was unaware this was to be used on flat carpet when I purchased it for my home office where the carpet is thick. It works ok but it would have been far better if it were a more rigid material. I was not informed nor did I see anything about FLAT carpet. However it's better than having nothing.
I had a very old plastic cover for my carpet and it cracked and it would cut my feet. (I'm almost always barefoot) My husband went to Staples and picked this one up for me. I really like it and it's soft and it doesn't cut my feet like the other one did. I would really recommend this to anyone that has carpet. It's almost impossible to be able to get your chair to move comfortably without this type of mat. Anyone with a computer in a carpeted family room or office certainly needs this. It's also very easy to keep clean.
Not a bad chair mat does the job and is good for home office. I eventually reworked my office and needed a bigger one so this is going back - not because of quality just don't need to keep it. The new one is Polycarbonate made by Floortex ... I will say this and I know this is supposed to a review of the Staples chair mat but if you can swing the few extra dollars buy the Floortex it's awesome! The material is a well constructed that isn't as soft. Came in a box in a roll and I was worried I'd have to wait for it to flatten out but nope ... just cut the strap and it laid down flat no waiting several days or weeks for the little kinks to flatten out.
This mat is for my home computer room and is in front of the computer with a large office chair on it. It stays in place and the chair moves very well on it.
