The plastic sinks in when you sit in the chair for a while so it makes it so the chair does not roll easily which is the reason we bought the mat for:( No we are not big fat people!
We have the typical medium pile home carpet and this does not work at all It deforms to the point there's no way the chair will roll. Worse yet the deformity is basically permanent so there's no way you can move to a new position. This MIGHT work for very short pile with no carpet pad that you would find in a business or professional office setting.
Probably perfect for the thin industrial carpets you’d find in commercial buildings and office spaces not for home carpets. The slightest bit of tension and heat will warp it off the floor. My Dexley office chair makes divots in it when rolling and resting even when I’m not on the chair. If you’re looking for a mat to use in any normal American home or apartment with carpeted floors look for something way thicker than this.
This is my 2nd time purchasing these mats since 10/2022 and I am once again disappointed. The shipping stickers don't come off as well as the product label as if they have been laying around drying out for a long time. The ones I purchased back in October started to crack within 3 months and one of them has very minimal use/activity on it. These mats use to be one of the best and now they are garbage. I will see how long the two that I just purchased last. If they start to crack in 3 months like the last two I will never purchase from Staples again.
