As an art teacher I have been happy with these sets. They last a long time, have nice color, and I loved that I could replace the pans as needed. However lately it seems that the refill sets have been discontinued as they aren't in stock with the usual educational supply stores. I can only find random colors on online discount sites. This is super disappointing, because I'll need to transition to another brand, and all this crayola plastic will end up in a landfill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
