I have tried making this on setting 2 for med cup and setting 1 for small cup, setting 1 is best if you want a true espresso. I found setting 2 to render a medium strong cup. I'm very picky so please trust my review, have been drinking Bustelo for more than 20 yrs. made the old fashioned way. So glad to see them on the Keurig site.
Based on the description of the product, I expected a bold, flavorful, deep coffee with expresso-like qualities. It was disappointing on all counts, yielding a less than average cup of relatively weak coffee. It would not be appealing even to those who prefer a medium intensity brew.
I drink Bustelo black with a little bit of sugar 1 lump at most, but this blend is also great with milk (Café con Leche). Aroma is great and the tase is even better. I love coffee that taste like coffee, I do not add any flavors. Bustelo gives me just that, good coffee. No downside.
I purchased a box of these thinking they would taste at least similar to the bag coffee I used to get and brew in my expresso machine. This was a huge disappointment... This coffee tastes like American coffee, which is not necessarily just not what I expected from Bustelo - even on the 6oz setting it feels watered down to me. I'm from Puerto Rico so I like my coffee strong and bold - this coffee does not cut it for me. It also does not stand up to milk as advertised, as a matter of fact, once you add milk the taste is watered down so much you can't really enjoy the flavor anymore. The coffee's taste is not bad, just not as strong or memorable as I expected from this brand.
Pros: Not Bitter, Taste
Cons: Not bold enough, Does Not Stand Up To Milk, Feels Watered Down
This is my absolute favorite K cup. This is how coffee should taste. It's nice and bold, flavorful and smells great. If you enjoy weak coffee, stay away from this. Bustelo puts hair on your chest.
