Every year around this time I volunteer with Operation Christmas Child to fill shoe box size containers (also bought at Staples). They go to extremely needy children all over the world. In some cases they can't go to school unless they have school supllies - notebooks pens pencils markers crayons (again purchased at Staples) soap washcloths toothbrush/paste lil toys stuffed animals etc. I have to put a RUBBERBAND around the container. In the past I picked up some here and there but they would break weren't the right size - THESE ARE PERFECT AND THEY LAST....so I can easily use the rest of the bag in years to come.
I purchased these to donate to The Samaritan's Purse Ministry for Operation Christmas Child Shoe boxes. The large economy size bag was a great value and the quality of the bands was great. The rubber bands are used to hold the boxes closed until they arrive at the distribution center in Boone North Carolina for the final check before they are shipped all over the world. The rubber bands are essential to keep the contents of the box intact through numerous handling's from the church to the local collection area. They are then packed in boxes and on the distribution center to be handled once again. The rubber bands hold up through all those handling's.
