Although my carpet doesn’t have a deep pile the pad must be deep. The chair sinks into the mat creating dents and making it difficult to roll. If you are putting this on carpet I recommend getting the heaviest duty mat.

I love the idea of the chair mat. However the mat itself is very soft so the chair rollers sink into the mat and it’s tough to roll on the mat. The mat also shifts and doesn’t stay put on the carpet. It’s possible the carpet pile is a tad high.
