This mat is too "light weight" for my purpose sitting on a fairly plush carpet. It is smooth on both sides so slides around and bunches up where I anchored it under the leg of my desk. My mistake.

This mat may work well when placed on a hard floor. I am using it on a low pile carpet and the casters on my desk chair sink into this very soft mat to the point where my chair is difficult to move.
