Less than 6 months old and Falling Apart

Really tired of buying these cheap mats that the chair just cracks and shreds the mat after a short period of time. Mat is made for carpet and is on short carpet. Chair is office chair bought at staples. This one only lasted 5 months and now pieces of the mat is flaking off under the chair. Waste of money.

This mat is too "light weight" for my purpose sitting on a fairly plush carpet. It is smooth on both sides so slides around and bunches up where I anchored it under the leg of my desk. My mistake.
