I returned this chair mat shortly after bringing it home. It is so thin that the wheels from my desk chair made fairly deep indentations in it almost immediately. That made it difficult to roll the chair around. I expect that it would crack in a short period of time as well from normal use.

Received Unexpected Color

The photos for this product show a light colored mat that is slightly clear with grips for carpet. The mat I received was solid black without grips. The product numbers matched what I ordered. I looked back at the product page online and there was nothing that I could find that indicated that the product might be different that the light colored product shown in the photos and described online. I ordered for store delivery. The employee said that the mats were sometimes shipped in black and that the grips were not needed on carpet. He double checked the product numbers and said to try the mat to see if I liked it. I tried it. I didn't like the lack of grips for medium pile carpet. I didn't like that it was dark when I expected a light color. The carpet in the room is cream and I just repainted the walls to make the room bright hoping to make the small space feel bigger. I had to return it and buy a different brand since I couldn't count on this one to be as advertised. Also the black mat that was shipped dented where the chair wheels sat for the brief 10 minute trial period before I returned the mat. It would probably work fine on hard floors or on thin pile carpet.

This mat spans the edge of a very low pile rug. the covered edge of the rug spans underneath where my feet end up when I'm sitting comfortably at my desk. This mat fixes the obvious problem of the rug edge lifting up from being kicked dragged and wheeled over multiple times a day. It is also versatile enough to "fit" on both the hard wood floor and the low-pile rug.
