Time will tell

I work from home so my floor mat gets heavy use. I have short nap carpet over padding. I used the staples paperclip test and measured carpet and pad at exactly 3/4". Based upon this measurement I ordered this mat. The mat is much thinner and more flexible than the floor mat it replaced. At first I thought it was way too thin but it is more flexible. So I concluded that perhaps it will trade thickness for flexibility resulting in durability. I had a hard time justifying the next floor mat up at twice the price. Time will tell if I made a good choice. If it falls apart I would have been better off with the more expensive mat.

At first I thought it would be to big but the staff person loves how much wider this is. She rolls from her desk to a hutch that holds her computer. The first thing she said was it fits.

Not for plush carpet!

I bought this to replace a pad used on commercial carpet thinking it was as good as advertised. When it arrived it was exactly the same as one purchased locally for commercial grade carpet. I should have saved my money.

Should have at least bought the "middle of the line" product. Does not lay flat and moves on the carpet.

too thin for thicker carpet

This mat is too thin for anything other than Commercial grade carpet. If you have any pile at all to your carpet. Better get a thicker more rigid mat. Sorry to say they cost more $.

This is a decent mat best used for hard surfaces or very thin carpet. The thickness is minimal & if you are of decent weight on moderately thick carpet your chair wheels will sink somewhat into the mat. I am able to slide around alot better than without it & it's better than nothing. A thicker mat is best for thicker carpet. Not sure how long it will last though. It's good for the price I paid though

This chairmat does not match the slightly smaller"standard" chairmat that I bought at Staples. It works. I do like the size but it's not smooth. The chair doesn't glide very easily makes a rumbling noise and when I'm barefoot the texture is like walking on concrete. It's also not as translucent as the "Standard" chairmat which means it is more visible on the nice hardwood floors. And as stated in the description it's square and it has a "cliff edge" which means it doesn't have the nice taper region on the "standard" mat. That makes more of a difference than I thought.
