This would work fine on a very low-pile carpet but is a bit thin for a thicker rug.

Not only are the Mat's exactly what we wanted we ordered them online as they weren't in stock at our local store and the arrived at our home the next day before noon! Fantastic.

The chair mat works well on regular pile home carpet. Only had it about a week so I can't speak to durability.

Kept buying standard mats that would last a while and then start cracking. This one is heavy duty much thicker material and well worth the few dollars more in price.
