Yup they're file folders and they hang for sure. They seem to be as nice as any I have used in my 50+ years of experience with such things.

Staples Hanging file folders - extra wide

These hanging folders are great! The cardboard inserts for the bottom of the folders fit very well and make the folders conform to their shape. It's so much easier to have the wide hanging folders than overstuff the regular folders. It's easier to find things and the file drawer closer better too. As I continue to organize my filing I will be ordering more of these folders.
