Product is of great use in preventing stains in carpet in the desk area where it was placed.

much better than the smaller thinner "economy" mat I origianlly bought. The cheaper mat became brittle discolored and started breaking/shattering in the center where the chair sits most. This new mat is much thicker and more flexible.
