I have a plush carpet in my home office so I bought the Staples PlushMat Chair Mat to use with my desk and office chair. The wheels of the chair rides on the mat well enough; however sitting in the chair for long periods causes deep impressions in the mat which gets the wheels stuck. It’s somewhat annoying having to rock the chair back and forth to get out of the ruts but it would be harder to roll the chair on the carpet itself without the mat. Anyway as I said it works well enough depending on the deepness or plush of your carpet but I wish the mat was thicker to minimize the deep impressions/ruts. Ultimately I’d tentatively recommend that mat depending on how thick your carpet is.
It is expensive. The cleats aren't nearly big enough for the thickness of carpet this is supposed to work for (3/8") so it slides around. It works otherwise with no cracking yet. It flexes a lot too so you need to rotate the wheels periodically so you don't create divots in the mat. Not sure it's worth the premium given it won't stay put and still flexes a lot.
This mat looks fine grippers on the bottom work well size is fine. BUT it’s very soft plastic so your chair wheels press into it and make it very difficult to roll or move around. It’s not at all like rolling on a hard surface floor. This is on very low berber-like carpet. Disappointed.
