This is an attractive product and certainly not the least expensive. The thickness and hardness are severely lacking as the chair wheels dig into the surface as well as create potholes that are difficult to get out of. I am constantly realigning it as it slips all over the carpet. Not recommended at all over carpet.

Very thin mat very expensive

On carpet I use it to protect the rug and to make it easier to move my office chair around on it. This mat is so thin that the chair won't move when I'm sitting on it. I got a cheaper but heavier one at another store.

Using this mat at the computer makes the chair roll much more easily without tearing up the carpet.

Size fits perfectly in my small office area. Price was reasonable. I think my carpet is a little too thick though because over time I get "stuck" in dents the chair wheels leave.
