Nothing lasts forever. This one lasts longer than others I have bought and is cheapest I have found so far. Appearance and function match those of the highest price. For best value buy on discount. My latest purchase was at 50% discount (about $15.00). I expect I'll get more than one year's use before replacing.

CHAIR MAT TOO SOFT!

This Chair Mat is too soft. I even purchased extra large chair casters to more evenly spread the weight. It did help. There are depressions on the mat and I can't slide along it.

I purchased this product for my home office to protect the wood flooring from the damage caused by my computer chair. I purchased this because it was the only mat suitable for hard flooring surface in stock at the time. This is a Staples-branded product and it is really obvious that corners were cut to reduce the cost. This is what I noticed relative to the last floormat that I had: - thickness: not thck enough. Should be thick enough to be able to support a bevel at the edges should you accidentally roll off the mat - size: the mat isn't quite big enough - it should be about 6" wider and longer - moves on the floor: the mat has a slight pattern on both sides of the mat. While this simplifies manufacturing the side facing the floor should be completely smooth otherwise the mat "walks". I rated this product TWO STARS because it is ADEQUATE for a budget shopper. I would not recommend it to a friend - spend a little more and get a larger thicker mat that won't move on the floor.

It's exactly what I needed so my chair could move easily on a carpeted floor. [...] It is a replacement for another chairmat that I got from Staples over 14 years ago! Very satisfied!

I bought this mat as a replacement and it works excellently. The previous mat lasted me 5 years but was cracking in the center because it was a folding chair mat-- the center seam finally was breaking away. This mat was a great value for the money and I highly recommend it.

NOT EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED

I use the mat to protect the carpet from the wheels on the chair I use at the computer. The wheels sink into the mat making an indentation preventing them from rolling freely. The mat should be made with a thicker and harder material as they had at an office where I once worked and had carpeted floors such as mine.
