This chair map works well on a thick carpet. The spikes hold it down but they are not sharp to touch. Translucent material blends well with the tan carpet and does not stand out. Overall excellent and cost effective mat.

The product is advertised for use on flat pile carpet. I have a low pile carpet - not flat enough I guess - but certainly nothing that can be described as plush; far from it. The matt quickly developed depressions where the casters on my office chair usually are making it more difficult to roll around than if the matt weren't there. This product should be limited to hardwood linoleum tile or other hard surfaces. Use on carpet only if the carpet is VERY thin.

I've only had this mat for a few months and its already riddled with cracks. Very poor quality of materials.
