This is the third time I have purchased this item. One in 2015 2017 and today. Only used for a few hours and it has significant dents in it. The old ones never dented just cracked over time. Just not as strong as they used to be.
Co-worker was concerned as she thought a new mat might not be durable enough. This one is not too thin to cause the chair to create wear too quickly and we were able to throw away her old cracked mat she was hanging on to for too long.
It looks good but it is "too thin" to hold the body weight and chair weight. It should be thicker. Now I see why it was the lowest price. (It's my first). It actually makes small indentions (sink-holes) impressions in the mat itself (somewhat) preventing you from rolling your chair. But they do go away after a minute or two. This mat will do for now but I will need to replace it with a more expensive one that the chair will not sink down into. You can't exactly see the "sink-hole " but it is about 1/2 inch deep. The Chair Mat "is" there. The metal ruler is flat across the mat and yet the thick wooden ruler can fit under it - down in the sink hole. Conclusion... The one made for Hardwood floors may work fine but the one (I have) for thick carpet is too soft.
Staples delivered this mat as is so I don’t have to worry about unrolling it or deal with the smell like the old office chair mat that I bought from other online store. The quality seems good so far plus it’s easy to clean.
