I bought this for my home office. In the store it was my only option even though the display indicated there are several grades to choose from based on one's needs. It works fine not worth a return and continued shopping but it's not what I'd call heavy duty. I'm 130 lbs and there are indentions in it from me sitting in the chair a few hours a day. So far those indents have not obstructed it's ability to be useful.

Serves Double Duty

This Chair Mat is being used by an overweight individual on high pile carpet and so far is working great. It was delivered right to my door I didn't have to drive to the store get it into my vehicle drive home and have to drag it into the house. I only had to drag it into my house! Since it is 46" x 60" and wobbly that means a lot. Make sure your area is large enough to handle this size before purchasing! This is being used in a spare bedroom where the computer is located and it just fit. Since it is 5' long I can wheel from the desk to the low filing cabinet and is making work a lot easier! Just what I needed

I use a rolling walker and need a flat surface to use over the rug underneath my desk. I use this mat adjacent to one of Staples' desk mats to make a large smooth surface. Ir works geat.

Incresing thickness would improve

I needed a larger mat to cover the large area for my chair to be used with my corner desks arrangement. This is the largest I could find that would work which was a plus. However the mat I previously used for my high pile carpet was thicker and did not deform under the chair wheels as the Staple mat does. The Staple mat is OK but I would have paid more for a thicker mat. I felt it would work simarly since it was advertised for high pile as my previous mat was also. The old mat was thicker!

Product does not last.

This product was purchased on 12/21/2012 and started cracking at about the ninth month. It is coming apart and had to be replaced. The store will not replace it and the manufacture will not take my calls.

Rolling is easy!

We have recently purchased a new chair mat for one of the offices. We purchased a Staples Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mat /Lip 36" x 48" because the last 2 Chair Mats we have purchased came from Staples and have held up very well to everyday use. The Staoles Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mat 36" x 48' will be in constan use over carpet and we expect the chair mat to hold up as well as the other two that have been in use now for a couple of years. The Staples Flat Pile Caarpet Chair Mat /Lip- 36" x 48" is the right choice for use in our office!

Using this mat on a low pile carpet works good but a roll around chair does have a tendancy to deform around the wheels. You must jog the chair out of the indention. The mat does stay in place.
