Question the shape

From the catalog appearance it would seem that the extension that goes under the desk is not long enough to protect the carpet. If you did not position it just right I would think your chair wheel would come off the front edge also if you are a person that likes to sit up close to your desk. A shorter person might not find this useable. The other big gripe with these mats is when they crack. The plastic needs to be thick enough to protect the carpet but not become brittle. It is also a problem when bits chip off the edge of the mat because it gets brittle and your chair wheel cracks them off.

Worst Chair Carpet Chair Mat Ever!

I purchased this carpet chair mat for my home business office. It is THE WORST chair mat ever!! The "teeth" on the bottom DO NOT keep the mat in place and the mat ends up sliding all around. It either ends up bunched up against my desk or my chair gets caught on it because it keeps moving around. The one end that keeps bunching up against the desk is almost permanently bent because of how many times it has bunched up against the desk and the mat is only a week and a half old! Whatever you do DON'T purchase this chair mat; it is AWFUL!!

Mat arrived intact in good condition. Like the size of the mat. It was a good value for what I paid for it. I followed the weight/use recommendations provided in the product description areas. It is nice that all of that information is available to a consumer. It saved me some money because I was able to avoid overkill and get the exact product that I needed for my work space. It was also helpful to have the directions on how to measure carpet thickness. I feel I purchased the right product for my needs. Thank you Staples!

My old chair mat (17 years of use) finally gave up the ghost. I replaced it with a new chair mat that fit perfectly and was priced right!

Chair Mat Met Needs

This chairmat is the perfect size for our needs. The carpet is practically flat and the grippers on this mat hold just the right amount. It makes it easy for our secretary to move between work areas without having to get out of her chair. The mat lays flat is not curling like the old one so it does not create a tripping hazard. I don't know if it will turn yellow and crack like to old one did but right now it is clear and very pliable. I don't think it will harm the carpet underneath and it definitely protects the carpet from the rollers on the chair. I would highly recommend this product.

Chair Mat for Rug

I found this chair mat for carpet to be adequate. What concerns me is that is sinks in where the rollers sit. I am wondering if it is going to last more than three or four months. For the price it seems to be okay. Not sure I would recommend this particular chair mat to others. However there are other mats there that are a bit more expensive and seems to be a little more hearty. I did find out that the rug mats have little spikes on the bottom so that they do not slide on the rug. The wood floor mats are smooth.
