I have large files and I use the large rubber bands to hold them closed in order to keep all the loose papers inside.

I'm on the road all day. These are the best bands for securing papers above and below windshield visors. Though susceptible to heat-related failure (as all bands are) they have proven themselves to be pretty reliable. They are always the same length and width which helps when setting up in the dark of the morning.
