These are perfect for closing my Interactive Notebooks in my math class. I just hole punch the back cover of a composition book approximately 1" to 1.5" in from the upper right corner. I then loop the large rubber band trough the hole and then wrap the band around the covers. I also like how they come in different colors - this gives my students a color choice for their composition book. The package comes with 24 large bands. I wish it was a little cheaper - because i need to buy in quantity. I have over 210 students this year.
These are great for keeping larger 8-1/2 x 11 papers binders and books together. I wish there was a slightly smaller size available (like 5" x 1/8") but they only offer much smaller stiffer sizes at the store. THese rubber bands stretch pretty far - like the ones we used to shoot in drafting rooms!
My printer lid had torn hinges. Rather than spend the cost to have the printer fixed or purchase a new printer I simply used these large rubber bands to hold the cover in place so I could continue printing and scanning.
It is difficult to find child-safe sturdy long-lasting products to help organize a therapy office where there are preschool children around on a regular basis. Since I have many games puzzles and toys that need organizing these big rubber bands have proved useful for many years. I have had difficulty finding them at other stores but can nearly always find them at Staples. Even though I use the ones that hold boxes of games and puzzles together nearly every day they still seem to last a very long time seldom needing to be replaced. I wish that other products would be as sturdy and long-lived.
Use them to hold the trash bags in place. One of the cats loves to sit there and slowly work the bags out so he can trash surf and these have stopped the behavior.
