This mat is a good size I have the same size in my other office that is carpeted. I was hoping for a perimeter lip to give some tactile warning I was about to roll off the mat and onto my new pristine hardwood floors. After three tries and multiple conversations with a variety of customer service personnel who apparently do not know Staples product line I gave up and kept the third delivery. The next day delivery could not be better and after the second delivery of a mat without a lip (but the same product SKU) the driver called to verify if I wanted the same wrong product delivered again something the customer service folks didn't seem to fathom. Anyway I needed a mat on my hardwood floors and a large mat without a lip was better than no mat at all. It would be better if the online ad just removed the word "Lip" from the product description to eliminate confusion.
Thicker material but office chair wheels still sink into the mat and carpeting leaving dimples with no one sitting on the chair. The mat does not have a beveled edge. The edge had several blemishes which required a an exacto knife to trim sharp protrusions but that may have been caused by the delivery guy just throwing the unpackaged mat on my front brick patio. I'll be returning the map for a refund.
I received the chair mat several weeks ago. It is very smelly with a plastic smell and the headache I received was almost immediate. I have it in the garage hoping I'll be able to use it soon. Probably better if you are sensitive to buy one from a store that has had them hanging on the rack and therefore the smell has dissipated. Previous to this I have been please with Staples chair mats. Hopefully SOON I will be pleased with this one. The reason for purchasing it and having it delivered to the house was because my store did not carry the biggest size which is what I need this time. In general I am very pleased with Staples and this is a rare complain but I can't work with such a headache.
