Skeptical at first but pleasantly surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have wanted to try recycled ink but have found the results of recycled or natural products to be inconsistent so I wasn't sure what to expect when I received the replacement printer ink to try as part of the Stellar Product testing panel. I was concerned that there would be a drop in quality or that it might not last as long. Right out of the box I was impressed especially with the note that the cartridge contains 97% recycled content (based on empty cartridge weight). There packaging was pretty straight forward and I didn't really miss anything in terms of the components and packaging being more eco-friendly as well. I mean it's replacement ink. As long as it works you can tell what color it is it installs easily and doesn't leak you really don't need more. There are directions as to how to return the cartridge in the box although it looks like it might cost you if you can't take advantage of option #1 which is the driver pick-up program. I don't need to return them yet so I'm not sure if this will be an option for me or if there is a way to return it to the store. The installation was straight forward. Pretty much the same as the standard cartridge. Nothing exciting to report there. As for print quality I test printed a number of pages for how I use my printer. It's in my home office and gets light office use and light home use. I printed a few word documents (reports) pictures and some graphic heavy designs (e.g. flyers a plane reservation) and the ink performed well. I didn't notice any difference from the regular cartridges. Overall I was impressed. I thought they performed well in both black and white and in color. As I work to reduce my footprint and impact on the environment I love that they are reusing and recycling material. It also makes sense to reduce the packaging so that is also well done. I did not have to but these as I mentioned above so I am not sure about any cost differences between these and the standard cartridge. In addition as a light printer user I don't know how long they will last or how much of a hassle it might be to return them for reuse. Pros -97% Recycled Material -Eco-friendly components and packaging -Straight-forward Installation -Print Quality was good. No noticeable difference from the standard cartridge Cons -The unknowns (price how long it will last how easy the return process is)

Huge value and great performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super impressed with how long these cartridges lasted. I didn’t think that they would last nearly as long when I first got them. They performed just as well if not better than regular ink cartridges. If they continue to offer this ink at a discounted price it will be a no brainer for me replacing my ink cartridges every time. Thanks again to the stellar panel for letting me test the cartridges. Loved them!

Understand at the outset…this is an HP issue NOT a Staples issue. HP ( and just about every computer printer manufacturer) overprices their ink. Given the quantity of Macs & PCs out there there’s simply no reason why printer ink should be so expensive. I applaud HP for “remanufacturing” their cartridges and I’ll reserve judgement on how well it works for when I actually install them in my printer but the cartridges themselves are still horrendously overpriced. The price for new cartridges is quite frankly obscene. I am happy that Staples does give you the option of the “cheaper" product.

Amazing ink for clear sharp quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love Staples Remanufactured Black High Yield and Color Standard Yield Ink Cartridge Replacement as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. First of all it was super easy to install and immediately worked in my printer. As a homeschooling mom I tend to print A LOT of documents and worksheets so I was pleasantly surprised how clean clear and crisp everything came out. And what’s even better is the eco-friendly packaging and minimal waste that was part of the cartridge unlike other brands that seem super excessive. Highly recommend and will definitely be using this again in the future.

Overall they work well in the printer. I have learned that after about three times using recycled cartridges it is wise to order and use HP cartridges for a cycle. The printers seem to get upset and don't work properly if they don't get their HP fix.

Excellent Quality Very Impressed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once installed my printer defined these as "non HP...cannot guarantee the quality" but I was pleasantly surprised. The printer registered each cartridge as 100% full and I printed some full color papers I needed for a learning game and they look amazing. The install process is super easy - just open the box take out of the plastic bag and lock it in. I was surprised that there's not a tear-off-strip over the ink output but no spillage was observed within the bag or any dry flakey bits. While I received this product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for review I'd totally purchase these in the future when I need a refill.
