The shredder stopped working soon after I started using it. I put only paper one at a time no plastic no sticky materiel and yet it stop working. I tried to clean it by removing stuck paper from the teeth with a tweezer nothing work. My mistake was not returning sooner.
I did not realize until the shredder was delivered that it was for light shredding only. I am going to return it. The problem is not the shredder but my not realizing it was for light work only.
Shredder works great and is less noisy than most but the indented side handles do not pick up the whole machine they only pick up the top containing the shredding mechanism. If you leave the shredder powered up someone who is not familiar with it might try to pick it up and find themselves with a live shark in their hands. So I keep mine always turned off. I think this is unsafe design. My previous shredder from Staples had side handles that picked up the whole machine and the shredding mechanism just lifted off without handles.
My last shredder had lots of plastic paper separating fingers inside. Also the mechanical sense switch which after years of use (and gaurantee running out) I had to work on and get it to feel the input paper. This machine has a optical sensor nylon separation 'fingers' and metal parts inside! It can do paper scraps up to 12 sheets. GREAT !
