The Staples 8-Sheet Shredder proves to be a powerhouse for its small size. The performance of this product is impressive because of its capacity to process a variety of mediums successfully with a reasonable decibel of sound and expected speed. It works smoothly to devour regular paper cardboard and credit cards. I found this unit to be quieter than some other shredders. I found the mechanism of shredding to be well made giving me confidence. The pace in which it consumes to items is on pace with other shredders. I appreciated the inclusion of the lubrication sheets which I believe is part of what makes this unit so successful. I believe with correct upkeep the durability of this product will show over time because of its high quality. Over 30-minute intervals the shredder is able to maintain consistently. I am sure this unit could be pushed beyond its recommendations because of its quality and durability - a few more sheets maybe two credit cards instead of one thicker cardboard longer use-time etc.; however Staples sets you up for success by giving parameters that keep this unit in tip-top condition. My helpful tip would be to follow directions and keep the unit clean and lubricated. The slot for the paper could be a little wider but was still functional and acceptable. Overall I am rating this 5-star because I really appreciate how much this small feeder can handle and felt that it did an excellent job being pushed to its limit. I am delighted with what the Staples 8-Sheet Shredder accomplishes while having a small footprint.

This shredder is adequate for home or light use. It gets the job done. I've not experienced any paper jams or overheating issues. It is fairly loud when in use and when shredding several paper items right after each other it sounds like the motor is getting tired and about to give out therefore I only shred a few items at a time and then let it rest before shredding more documents for fear that it will overheat. Overall it suits my purposes at home and it does not take up a lot of space so I can easily slide it underneath my desk when not in use.

The Staples 8-sheet shredder performed excellent during our initial use period. The initial set-up was quick and simple using the included Operators Manual. The shredder performed as expected for an 8-sheet cross cut shredder. Feeding 1-4 letter sized pieces of paper into the shredder at a time it shreds them quickly and with little noise. Feeding 4-8 letter size pieces of paper into the shredder at once slows down the shredder a bit but it still shreds them quickly and into small cross cut pieces. The shredder turns whatever is fed into it in to hundreds of 3/16 x 1 1/4 pieces that makes it very secure to use for sensitive documents. Documents with staples attached to them were also shredded with ease and quickly. I would recommend the Staples 8-Sheet Shredder for home or small business use.

The shredder is a nice size it's not too bulky. It is lightweight. I didn't have any issues with the shredder jamming when shredding from single sheets up to 8 sheets. It does a good job shredding and I am confident that my personal information is not accessible due how well it shreds the papers. The shredder is surprisingly quiet. It says 3 minutes continuous shred time but it lasted longer approximately 10/15 minutes before cool down was needed. The shredder holds a good amount of paper before needing to empty. It's an easy set up.

As a small home-based business owner I had a perfect opportunity to test this shredder for both business and personal use. After two weeks I discovered that it's more suited for personal use in homes that don't require much shredding beyond pre-approved credit card applications and an occasional expired credit/debit card. With its small footprint the shredder doesn't take up much room making it easy to find a space to put it. As with shredders this size it doesn't have a convenient pull-out drawer with a small window to show when it's full. Emptying this shredder requires removing the top that contains the motor and blades placing it somewhere on the floor or on a table and dumping out the shreds in the container below. The top unit is deceptively heavy and doesn't have recessed handles so be sure to have a good grip and keep your feet clear when removing it in case you drop it. It's definitely not built for small hands. Operation is easy; I didn't even need the instruction manual to figure out how to use it. For a small unit it shreds quickly although it does tend to slow down considerably when shredding more than 3 sheets. It's also unnecessarily loud. My heavy-duty business shredder is much quieter. The paper shreds are small enough to offer more security than shredders that use to cut paper into strips but not as small as those produced by other shredders of the same size. I shredded regular printer paper cardstock and a few old plastic membership cards. This little unit handled them all easily with no noticeable straining. Overall I'd recommend this shredder for occasional home use.

This shredder is great it eats my paper fast and is so much quieter than my old one. No more paper jams it seems to be able to handle several weights of paper well.

super cute and sleek. easy to sore in office under desk. instructions were simple and straightforward. worked well got the job done. seems durable and like it will last. i would recommend this product was definitely sufficient for my needs.

The Staples 8-Sheet Shredder in my mind was a shredder that I would use and it would work just fine nothing special but I was very surprised that this shredder was different. It was much stronger than what I'm used to in a shredder. It shreds paper very well but they all do but I was able to really leave multiple papers together and they shredded just as well as a single sheet. I was definitely impressed. I was aware that would even work on credit cards. I was beyond skeptical yes it works on several sheets of paper even stapled papers but cards hard cards I wasn't so sure about and it worked. We all those old cards we have to get the scissors out for and cut random ways to ensure our information is safe and all the gift cards that pile up that have no money left on them. I put the cards in the shredder and it took care of all of them and that was probably what impressed me most. It was a real time saver which was nice to have on hand. I did worry that tge shredder would be less sharp and effective after shredding the cards and it was not less effective or strong in anyway so I was very happy with how it all worked out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a strong shredder because this seems like it will handle anything you need.
