I have a solid bamboo floor in my office. It is very hard however the wheels of the chair were slowly breaking through the finish and the floor was beginning to look dull. Now all of the area in question is covered with the Chair Mat. In addition the wheels roll better on the mat than they did on the floor itself. The mat grips the wheels just enough so that they swivel and roll better. Although the color is not a match for the very light natural color of the bamboo floor it matches the wood finish of the desk. I am very happy.

Wood Mat for Wood Floors

I just had new floors put in my office and wanted to protect them from my desk chair scratching each time I got up. I looked in several stores before going to Staples. They had exactly what I wanted. The other stores had the hard plastic ones with what I call spikes. Staples not only had a wood veneer style chair mat...it is the same color as my wood floors. I love it. It's easy to move my chair on also.

Totally satifactory but seems like $40 for a piece of plastic is a bit much.
