I’ve used dozens of Arca compatible camera tripod plates over forty years as a photographer and this one of the best and most clever plates ever devised, I’m also a product designer in another field and this little thingie is one of the best and most well thought out products I’ve ever encountered. It’s little, light, don’t look like much but it needs no tools to mount, it grips the camera like a mother, disappears with no drama and just does it’s job. I just bought another right now.

Failure, Field Plates

I have to start by saying I own almost all of Peak Designs products. I am a Peak Design tribe member. These Field Plates become loose when attached to a Capture Clip. I purchased two and had the same problem with both. Nothing like having your camera come loose when attached to a clip. I made sure they were tight especially after the first failure, they still be came loose while I was out in the field.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Convenient for moving between different lenses or cameras. Sometimes having a capture clip compatible plate on a lens makes it harder to balance on a gimbal and this makes that less of an issue.
