Overall decent, has a few flaws

Pretty good case overall! Mount implementations works well with my peak handlebar mount. Build quality has held up well. My biggest gripe is the front of the case doesn’t stick out enough/isn’t as firm as it should, so whenever the phone falls face down its almost a guaranteed screen protector replacement needed. Luckily my screen has been fine underneath, but we’re on screen protector 3 in 4 months. My old iPhone 13 w/ the standard case and a glass screen protector only ever broke one protector in ~4 years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GNAR Phone Case

I purchased this case last September to use with the PD bike mount for recording segments of my riding routes. The materials and workmanship are excellent. The GNAR case is robust, offers a solid grip in the hand, and features a secure magnetic connection with the bike mount. It will not become dislodged, regardless of terrain, yet it’s still easy to disengage when needed.
The case provides excellent protection along the bottom, top, and back of the phone. Where it falls short, however, is screen protection. The sides of the case sit flush with the screen, lacking a raised “lip” that would help protect the display if the phone were dropped face-down. With a raised lip, the phone would be virtually indestructible—or at least far less susceptible to damage—while seated in the GNAR case.
So, would I recommend this case? Yes.

Feels great in hand with big flaw

2.5/5 which is a bummer because I own dozens of peak products and this is the first I’d give fewer than 5 stars. I’d think most people put a screen protector on their phones but the nonexistent lip makes that non functional. Otherwise feels great in hand

200% upgrade from Quadlock

Awesome case. 200% upgrade from Quadlock.
Yes, it’s marketed as a rugged case but you still need to use a good quality screen protector and recommend using a metal camera bump cover that sticks to the iPhone 17promax. Overall love this case. Buttons and feel are great. Only thing I would change is I would like a 100% rubber texturized back just like what’s on the sides instead of the smooth backing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

The GNAR case looks cool and feels great in hand. Unfortunately, I had to return mine. Not sure if my screen protector (Spigen AluminaCore) made the phone too bulky, but I literally could not get the case on my phone. Every way I tried, the buttons were super hard to press which made it feel like the case wasn’t on right. Echoing everyone else, the lip on the front of the phone does feel really small.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great case with one big design flaw
on September 25, 2025

I have been a peak design everyday case user for years and always loved their quality and design. With that said this GNAR case unfortunately misses the mark because of only one fatal flaw, and that is the front of the case provides NO screen protection if laid flat down. Seriously all it needs is a small raised lip on the front to protect the screen and this would be an amazing case. I love the everyday case but went with GNAR because it’s the only one that offers Ibis color that matches the new cosmic orange iPhone. Other than the front the case is great but that one flaw is probably a deal breaker.

Screen/camera lips could be taller

Didn’t think I’d give a less than 5 star review for a PD product but here we are. Everything about this case is great aside from the screen and camera lip heights.
1.2mm is SUPER shallow. Using Spigen Screen and Lens protectors of nearly equal thickness there is virtually no ledge to protect the lenses or screen.
The GNAR is supposed to be the more protective case in the PD mobile lineup, so in my opinion it should be a little more protective in these areas.
Other than that, so far so good! Clarino on the back has a great feel.
