Understand the Sounds it Makes

I have not had this installed but a couple day's, so I can't really comment much about the overall performance. What was not explained how 'clear ice' technology works, and what the icemaker is doing. I say this because you it makes noises my other icemaker did not.
In the back of the icemaker, there is a water reservoir, (you can see it, and you can see water flowing back into the reservoir. My initial fear is its going to overflow, but it won't.). To make 'clear Ice', water is pumped from that reservoir onto the frozen 'ice plate'. With each pass of the water over the 'ice plate', some of the water freezes, and the remainder drops back into the reservoir. It repeats this process until the the ice plate is full, then it dumps the ice. It will pause for about 20 min before starting the entire process all over again. This is the sound you are hearing. It's not loud, but you can hear it when it's quite in the kitchen.
One more thing to note, the ice will glisten and look borderline wet. What I learned is the ice compartment is not a 'freezer' like my old icemaker. It's temperature is a few degrees below freezing. So while the ice is completely frozen, its not cold enough to cause the ice to clump and stick together - giving you that crystal clear ice.
As for the ice, it is crystal clear, the filter has removed any residual taste from city water supply line and scoops up effortlessly. And it makes a bunch of ice!
