I’ve purchased for all my children and my girlfriend these are really fantastic and anyone that is on the fence please don’t wait any longer you won’t be disappointed sincerely Ted Karlecke
I find there’s a conflict with my eyeglasses which makes them quite painful to wear for long. Also they are almost impossible under a hat and the microphone gets hidden under hat or helmet.
My OpenRun with the new small band fits great among all the other stuff on my head while biking - headband, helmet, glasses all nestle around or under or over the Shokz with no muss or fuss, it just all comes together easily when put on in the right order. I'm amazed at the comfort of the small band, even though I thought I had a big head. I did the measurements and came in just under the threshold so crossed my fingers and got the short band. Totally happy with that; believe the numbers on the tape when you measure. Of course, having my ears open lets me listen for traffic or birds or ice cream trucks while still being able to hear navigation instructions, music, podcasts, or fitness tracker prompts. The volume goes up high enough without getting "buzzy" to hear on all but the busiest fastest roads. My only ding on sound is that the microphone is not as good for office work as previous Shokz iterations - callers report to me that I sound more tinny and further away than I did on my previous OpenMove. The obvious answer to that is to get am OpenComm for work and just use the OpenRun when outside. The magnetic charging port is nifty and works great, and won't wear out like the insertable USB plugs do sometimes, but I'm a little worried about having just one little proprietary cord to keep track of and being stuck out in the world without it. With previous designs I could use a generic USB cord to charge up if needed. Anyone on the fence about these headsets just take the leap you will be so glad you did!
For the person wearing them they are great, safe for public workers to wear since ears are still open! (Call wise- the person on other end of call hears echos when talking more times then not, its just noticeable not bad, could be other reasons tho too?)
I am pleased all around with my Shokz. No disappointments. I especially like the clarity and I love not having something stuck in my ear. I was previously using iPods primarily for television and exercise sports talk listening. Shokz are better in every way including ease of use and long lasting charge.
I love them! However they are still a bit too big - and I have the mini’s. They’re good for easy runs when I have to be more careful about traffic. I wish they were adjustable.
