Definitely not as good as the kwik-e-mart or the Simpson house. The kwik-e-mart was the best set I have ever built. This set reeks of shrinkification. Disney is just as much to blame as Lego is for the terrible size and price. It is all about profit and not for fans’ or children’s enjoyment. I would love to see a Moe’s, church or a school in the future, but if they are going to be as mediocre as this set, Lego should just forget it.
And I feel this is an important one because there is a lot of controversy over this particular set. The biggest concerns amongst collectors/builders leading up to the Krusty Burger release was its high price point in relation to piece count. And it’s important to note the concern of the actual set being significantly smaller than the other two Simpsons sets (Simpson house and Kwik E Mart).
I am a huge fan of both Simpsons and Lego and own both previous installments of the Simpson collection. So when Krusty Burger was announced I was shocked but super excited.
But when everyone online (Lego.com and reddit) seemed wary about this set and afraid it would be a flop I was concerned. I knew I was going to buy it regardless… but too was skeptical if I would find the build and end result worth it. And knowing the Simpsons revival was at stake here- the fact that we the Adult Lego collectors want more Simpsons- Town of Springfield sets. And generally the chances of future themed sets relies on sales of previous ones.
That being said… I spent the past weekend building Krusty Burger. And I can honestly say, ignore the haters. If you are on the fence with this set- do yourself a favor and pull the trigger. Buy it!
This was a super fun set to build. The colors are exciting, the build is compact but unique. The new characters are fun- Sideshow Bob and Lou!! Of course you can’t forget Zit Faced Teen!
Sure, I hear other people’s concerns of where they think Lego came up short… Like why didn’t we get Marge’s family car instead of the Homie the Clown Car?! I kind of agree. But honestly, you got to give it to Lego at the end of the day, they did their Simpson lore research. Only true fans will remember the Homie The Clown episode to get that car detail. And another great Easter egg was the grease spill in the back. And including a shovel for Homer and Bart to steal the grease (Season 10 episode).
Finally, please don’t hesitate on this set if it’s due to cost and size. Sure it should it be a little bigger for the cost. But hopefully enough fans are buying this set to support the line and have Lego bring more Simpsons.
PS: I know a Moe’s Tavern Set is a long shot due to its alcohol theme. But… oh man… Lego would make a fortune off that set alone. Guaranteed. Think about it Lego…
The Simpson are here again and the build here brings back all of the characters and storylines I remember growing up. That is unfortunately where the positive about this set ends. The price is outrageous for the size of it. I thought it would at least be 1/3 bigger than it is. I get it has a bunch of characters but when the licensing or greed fees outweigh the fun of the build then you are losing it. I think I need to take a break from Lego if this is going to continue going the way of Pokemon.
It doesn't even compare to the Simpsons House or Kwik-E-Mart. I would have paid more if the size was comparable too the other 2. I hope this isn't a trend for Lego. Kinda disappointing.
As someone who has watched all of the Simpsons I love the idea of them coming back to Lego The Simpsons. If you are a fan of the Simpsons or building a Lego to have fun I highly recommend this set. It was so cool seeing all of the features inside of the Krusty Burger. I truly hope Lego explores the idea of make more Lego The Simpsons in the future!!!!!!!
Big “Simpson’s” fan so was thrilled to see this become available. Bought the house back in the day and enjoyed it (although it is very fragile) but missed the Kwik-e-mart, however, so extra happy to pick up this set. I know lots of folks are complaining about the amount of stickers but something to point out is that they are great stickers - really fun and add great detail to the set. Wish it were a little less $$ but that’s just the way it is these days. A good set - recommended.
Wow, so many details in this set. The minifigures are awesome. I love Sideshow Bob, Officer Lou, squeaky-voiced teen, and farmer Krusty. The Simpsons family characters are great too and you can never have enough Homers. I like how the set opens up for display- or play-ability. There are lots of little things to appreciate, like how the menu board can rotate when the set is opened up. It's easy to access everything inside. Just get it (unless you're saving for clown college).
