We’ve been using this software for years now for taxes. This year for the first time we had a frustrating experience with the accuracy check as a continually looped back for phantom error, errors or issues telling us that there was a difference between two fields, where we couldn’t see it, and it kept taking us back there again and again, but no way to get out of it. It clearly had no error and there was No way forward after the check Failure. In addition, we did not successfully download from any of our financial accounts tax forms as we just encountered many errors, it was not from the financial firm side, but clearly from the software side.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used H&R downloaded tax prep for nearly 2 decades. This process was extremely simple except for a couple of needs:
1. they need a section specifically for inheritance that includes involvement with distributions from trusts.
2. they need to simplify the downloaded stock transactions to eliminating required reviewing of each transaction supplied by the 1099 provider.

Overall, this is a good tax program. This is why I keep coming back year in and year out. I’ve owned several small businesses and H&R Block always has the forms I need to file federal and state returns. My only concern is with explanations on some sections. I didn’t think they were clear enough so it left me guessing. Bottom line though is I have never been audited by federal or state.

We had starred with the online version, and got so frustrated we gave up and bought this download version. It worked much better for our needs and there was not the constant upselling.
There were still a few problems with a K-1 form that this version couldn't handle
