I have used H&R Block Premium tax software for the past several years with good results. The guided process through all tax-related data works well. Some of the post-completion review and edit navigations are not as intuitive as I would like, but I have figured it out at this point.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I used HR Block Premium which has Rental Properties. It has some problems but works OK for the most part.. One problem is with depreciation. It does not carry forward the previous years depreciation schedule but instead defaults to 200% Declining Balance. That means that I have to check back on my previous return to make sure the correct schedule is used. I consider this as a Major Flaw.

The tax software is fine. But, when my federal return was rejected, the HR Block "help" was terrible. It was difficult to even get to a human assistant, and when I finally did, they were always useless. One put me on hold for over 20 minutes, constantly saying "It will just be another minute until my program opens"...it never opened, or they just had me on hold for entertainment. Another one seemed to be trying, but was unable to accomplish anything. And another kept trying to accomplish the wrong task. Ultimately, a person that overheard my struggles on the phone walked up and explained a logical way to resolve the problem.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Program was great except I can't add a printer. So there is no way to print return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

Dubious numbers; weak verification functionalitity

After reasonable effort, I was unable to verify the numbers the program generated for my income from sales of stock, which did not match what seemed it should be based on back of envelope calculations.. Ultimately, the correct number did not matter because my deductions far exceeded all my income, and my tax liability was going to be zero in any event, so I did not try to confirm every single transaction to check whether the program had generated an incorrect number. But it sure looked like it did, and that was diaconcerting. The program’s functionality for verifying accuracy was also clumsy, slow, and dubious.

Good product but needs a few improvements

Everything is easy to use and instructive; however, there seems to be a bug in Schedule E preparation; the interview asks for monthly rent, but it does not convert into the annual income in Schedule E. It should either ask for the annual rent income or convert into annual income. Also, it is not easy to locate data source just by looking at the form data (e.g., in turbotax, one can use "ctrl D" or some such to locate the source data

Cons: Time consuming
