I have used H&R Block software for decades. Going back to its initial Incarnation as PC tax cut before even logged the block This will be the last year I use it. It has now failed me a few years in a row in doing some of the important calculations. And each time it does, it basically tells me, fix it yourself and mail it in. Ridiculous. (Just so there’s no confusion, this year Block again couldn’t do the iterative calculation to get the right premium tax credit and self-employed health insurance deduction. This is not new. Sad)

I was pretty happy with this product initially. Presentation is nice. But when I got ready to transmit my return, I reviewed it and that's when the trouble started. The software had lost four of my 1099s. Unbelievable. Also the software kept asking me to recheck my retirement income. I did, but it continued asking. Never had problems like this with competing software, so will not be using this again next year.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
