Great software but the AI part is useless. Tried to ask it about 3 different questions with a couple being about taxes in general and the other about how the software worked and it basically told me it could not answer the questions. So I just asked a outside LLM and got the answers I needed.

Thought it would be easier but there were several bumps in the road, which required play through to see what options were available. Did not know where to click in the application to find answers, if any.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

been using for over ten years. fantastic program. we have a farm with many equipment items which have to be set up on depreciation schedules. The program makes that part of the tax return very simple and illuminates a major time-consuming task. However, there is a cliché on one form which took me several hours to figure out, causing the program to not readily allow 100% business expense new truck.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Highly disappointed compared to past three years

This years software appears inferior to past years. The software has crashed three times, and once it did not auto save costing me hours of data entry. Now, I have three failed attempts to e-file when the software tells me my return is "error free" and I have only "advisory" issues. It cannot tell me which, if any, of those issues are actually critical and preventing e-file. I think there may be required forms that are not supported - I don't feel this has been made clear in your product description. Customers buy this assuming they are purchasing a successful e-file. The ability to enter data from forms instead of interview appears very limited. I am very tempted to go back to TurboTax.

Works great, however, had to install Windows OS in order to use. Installing Windows destroys boot sector and requires reinstalling Linux and configuring and reinstalling all programs after - a 6 or so hour process. Most modern programs work in Wine for Linux or at least in a Windows VM on Linux, why doesn't HR Block? For some reason, would not work on Wine or on Windows VM within Linux. Online version did not work for me as in requires a texter on cellphone which I don't have.
Please produce a Linux version or at least a version that will work in wine on linux.

Cons: Time consuming

This is my 7th or 8th year using the H&R Block Tax software. Obviously I've been very satisfied with my results. It's relatively easy to use and gives good explanations when I have questions or want to learn more. I highly recommend it to others.
