I have been using H&R Block tax software for at least 15 years. I am confident in the resulting accuracy of the return that I send to the IRS. Explanations are clear and understandable. I have not received any requests for further clarification from the IRS.

Overall good experience with one possible glitch that I haven't experienced in previous years. For the backdoor Roth, the form 8606 wasn't filled out the same as in previous years. Previously, Form 8606 Part I was filled out fully. This year, Form 8606 Part I was NOT filled out fully. In both cases, there was no basis in the Regular IRA. The Form 8606 instructions appear the same in both years.

If you follow the interview format it works fine. However, if you want to pick and choose what you want to look at and work on or bounce around, it's too complicated. I also didn't like that the forms didn't open in full screens automatically making it difficult to see what I wanted to look at. I would have also like to be able to print screens without having to print the entire file.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
