Program is sometimes confusing but seems to be accurate on: There doesn’t seem to be a way to increase the font size within the program. I followed the help instructions and got the font size increased in Windows system but that affected everything on the computer. To make it usable I had to settle on an in between size where i still had to use a magnifying glass on some program pages. A control within the program will be most welcome and may determine if I use H&at next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid choice but it's lacking in several areas-
1. It should not discourage High income people from filing the non-deductible ira Forms, because for those that make a back door roth This inadvertently can result in a taxable event from that backdoor Roth. And that is not inconsequential.

2. When entering dividends, there should be a more prominent mention or inquiry about whether you have government bond Interest that may be deductible at the state level. This is down below the form in the interview Currently and easily overlooked, and there was no prompt to look for this possible deduction

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

schedule D entry was incorrect. Spent too much time trying to get the numbers to match. But when I checked the form it was correct. Very frustrating.

I have used HRBlock software since the late 90s. I now use the premium version to do taxes for my personal and LCL. The interview style navigation is good. Using help features allows digging deeper into the tax publications if needed. The AI tool is limited in function. This is a solid tool to use for your taxes.

I was hoping for a tax program better than TurboTax.
The H&R Block program is worse.
Here is how it should work.
- The screen should always show the actual 1040 to illustrate where the data goes.
- Again: as the data is entered, it should be crystal clear where and how the data is used.

Used their software for many years and have not been audited to date so I guess their accuracy is good. Deduction Pro (included) is a great help in valuing contributions. Occasionally difficult to trace certain entries that they compute automatically but have ultimately confirmed all of the ones I questioned.
