The "import tax information" hasn't worked for the last three years. The last two years i could log into the financial institution but it would not import my information. This year, what a joke, it wanted a transaction ID to log in. There is NO transaction ID. I buy this software so i can import this information and not have to enter it manually. You need to get this fixed!
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Each year I get my program early so I can file. After I finish it seems every year I have to wait for updates before filling. This year I had to wait 3 weeks and it was because of some worksheets that didn't change totals.

I have completed both Fed and State for California, but I cannot Populate the 1040-ES and 540-Es forms for estimated taxes because I have to wait for a "release date". This makes it difficult for planning purposes. When will these dates be available?

This might be unfair, but I did not give it a five star, because the update was so much delayed and prevented me from filing until late Feb. I do not know if that was the IRS or HR, but since the IRS website did not indicate that any forms were outstanding, I thought it might be HR. Otherwise I have been using HRBlock for twenty years and will continue.

Cons: Hard to import documents

Easy to use, but with a major glitch

I downloaded the software, did each update when it came along, filled everything in, and tried to submit. Every time I tried to submit, it said I needed to update the state software. I would do the requested update, but get the same message. And each time I tried to submit it deducted another state fee from out credit card. Finally I had to manually download the update and install it. Then the returns were submitted--with another state fee, of course. So now I need to call in and get those five extra charges removed. I have used the software for several years and like it, but this year's issues may make me look into other alternatives.

Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The program's still in the beta stage. You need to test it with 100 ordinary people and note where they encounter problems. I am certain you'll find a pattern of where the problems are. Pay the test subjects well, and you should get an invaluable return for your efforts and expenditures.
