GREAT PROGRAM poor help section

Have used this program for at least 6 years. 2025 was the worst help section by far, not sure why they changed things so much. Had to google answers this year. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Difficult

Not very user friendly. Took me a while to figure out how to deduct credit for my military retirement in Virginia. Also after finally getting it accepted by the irs, I got an email from tax software saying it was rejected. Checked irs website which confirmed that it was accepted
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

AWESOME, EASY, EFFICIENT APP

This is the easiest app that I have used to do joint spouse taxes with self-employment factoring in. I did not pay an arm and a leg for the software. I do feel, however, that if you busy into the software your state should be included the first go round.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

This software is not user friendly and does not calculate properly. Does not recognize Sch C profit for EIC. Waste of money.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

should be given more instructions and example to show how to input data into the software. it will life easier and no need to scramble the brain to complete the tax return task.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

It used to be that an eighth grader could prepare a return. These days it takes a rocket scientist do prepare a return . . . .

Pitiful - switched from TurboTax and regretted it.

This was not a good experience. I switched from TurboTax due to downloading difficulties (used to get a TT CD in a box but now have to download it and couldn't) and regretted it. First of all, it did not easily transfer my 2024 TurboTax files as advertised; 2 - it was difficult to navigate (to go back to a specific 2025 line item without having to page through the return again, and yes, I did try using the search function), and 3 filing was a mess and still is. Specifically, I finished and submitted my Fed return on 2/2, but I did not receive an acknowledgement of that until today, 2/11 (TT always replied the same day). After submitting my federal return I received a late 1099G and immediately created a revised return to reduce my refund due to the late 1099G, since the IRS would now be paying me too much based on my first return. I attempted to send this return and it wouldn't HRBlock wouldn't let me submit it, stating that the SW for revised returns was not yet ready and telling me to check for updates. The promised update on 2/6 said to wait for the next update on 2/13. Meanwhile my now erroneous original return is in the hands of the IRS and based on how fast my 2024 return came last year, I'm worried that I might get a refund before they receive my revised return, which I hope will not lead to a penalty which the chat lady at HRB said could happen (I think she was wrong). But with that in mind, I decided to print my revised return and mail; however, the HRB SW would not let me print it, stating (again) that the SW to process the revised return was not yet ready. So what has always been very straightforward in the past has turned into a real problem this year with HR Block.
