Disappointing!

I bought the Homeowners/Investors Deluxe Software Federal edition about a week ago and worked through it this afternoon. I've used Block software for the last two years and have been pretty happy with it. Today, however, I came close to making a major mistake which could have been easily prevented and certainly should have been identified at the last review of my work prior to submission. That mistake is that I failed to enter the amounts withheld from three major sources of income. This came to my attention when my projected refund was a couple thousand dollars less than last year. Still, I got the message that the return had been checked and was free of errors except for three minor areas that needed attention. There was no mention that lines for withholding had been left blank. I reviewed the whole return focusing on the probable cause for the decreased refund and quickly found the problem. In the past the software dealt with line by line guidance for all the major inputs, but this year there was just a display of all the places for information with no prioritizing. Withholding info was just buried among all those other lines that are not applicable to most of us. The W-2s often have the withholding boxes emphasized, but not this software. The error is still mine, but I feel that the software should prioritize the information that is absolutely essential for the average preparer and that certainly it should have recognized that the withholding lines were blank and sought verification that this was by intention before offering final submission.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I need to erase a return that was not completed. How do I delete a return?
