I was going for Turbo Tax, but I read two rating sites who reported that the H&R Block software was very close in quality to Turbo Tax. With a better price, I decided to try H&R, I found two to three areas where the wording was difficult to determine. It took a lot of back-tracking to correct the errors these caused.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The import of last year's return plus the ability to import directly from other entities made the 2019 version a pleasure to use. Having the tax balance always displayed and updated immediately as data is entered, elicits various emotions as it changes, and the changes lead to a closer examination of the data to understand the reasons. The tight integration with the state form reinforced the good experience. Then the e-file feature, along with the submission status checking, made the whole process relatively painless.
