Glitch in state program

When finished and ready to file the state program kept finding a missing entry. the AZ 211 form wanted last year federal liability. Every time I entered the number the box would be automatically cleared. Finally used the option at the bottom of the screen to delete the form. Then the program did it's check and had no issues. It then went ahead and e-filed.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Easy to use, but a major problem with the State

The interface is fairly easy to use. The major problem that I had was using the State software. I expect the software to tell me what items are deductible, and not allow me to determine what is deductible. The software has all the relevant facts, and it should complete the calculations. If it is left to me to deduct items, I would of course deduct everything. The software failed to provide guidelines for deductions. I expect the software to do this. That is why I buy Tax Software.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I worked for H & R Block 34 years, did all kinds of returns, but this is not a very friendly version if you have retirement, dividends, interest & social security. It is confusing when all the worksheets pop up also.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use H&R Block Deluxe Software to do my personal taxes, and one of my daughters taxes. It is a user friendly program. It walks you through tax questions whether you are doing a long form or a short form. I highly recommend H&R Blocks software.

Good, but a few glitches

I successfully completed and filed my Federal and state returns without too many problems, but I did run into two concerns. First, the instructions for bond premiums and market discounts are opaque and I had to seek out help to understand what to do. Second, I printed my return and all worksheets to a PDF file to save on my computer, then went to print a hard copy of the filed pages only, and the program crashed and would not reopen. This happened multiple times, indicating a software issue. (I use a MacBook Pro so PC users might not encounter this issue.) It was so bad that the only fix was to totally reboot my laptop.
