Great software

I always use H&R Block software for my taxes. I’m very satisfied with this product and highly recommend it.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Harder to use than previous years.

You have made this year's program harder to use. It is very hard and frustrating to use. It is very difficult to open again after finishing and closing the program.
When I tried to reopen the state and fill in the information to have a refund deposited. I was required to go through all of the items for completing it.
I received a message that there were 2 errors that i needed to correct on the Federal form 1099R. They were both the same error listed. I needed to enter the state code in box 13. I checked the forms and found that they did have the information enter.
Even after entering the Activation code when I first started the program I had to enter the code in order to have the form printed.

Lots of little things. For example, you have to shift to upper case every time you type in your state abbreviation. Each page should indicate whether they are asking for previous Federal or State information. Some inaccuracies. Reference to prior 1040 Line 75 should be Line 20a. Prior Iowa surtax is on Iowa 1040 Line 54, not Line 52.

I have used tax preparation software for decades. I shifted to H&R about 5 years ago. It has exceeded my expectations, reducing the stress of a stressful process. I am particularly pleased with the help in preparing the credit for prior year minimum tax and foreign tax credits. The software is very comprehensive and has reduced my preparation time by several hours.

Very good package... 4 1/2 stars due to inability to add cash charities to original list. Frustrating as compared to adding non-cash charities to existing list. Using year to year facilitates adding data year to year.. A good price performer and will use again next year.
