I have used H&R Block for many years. I have always counted on it's accuracy and the easy interview to complete my tax fillings. Now that I am retired and only qualify to file standard and age deduction, the expense for the application is excessive. I will be using the free programs offered by the IRS and my state.
Every step is easy until you get to save as a pdf. You have to install PDF995 which is okay, but there are no instructions on how to save. Took me a while to figure out you have to hit "Print" and then either a window pops up to save or you have to minimize the window to see this. When I hit "send" my e-file, a window popped up saying I had to update H&R Block and then sent me to another window. I wasn't really sure if I had e-filed!!!! The software all of the several years before this was simpler. Updates would pop up upon opening the program, not in the middle of sending!
I like H&R tax software very much! Only issue I had is that I had to go into last years Schedule A to get info that did not transfer over even though I have used H&R tax software for the past 7 years.
Very easy to use. The only problem I don't like with this program is you have to be online to click the help file not like turbotax when the help file is readily available when you click it.
