I have used this software for years. This year I had problems I see as software flaws. First, in checking for errors the health care worksheet found the state code invalid even though the state, NE is valid. Second, it could not find the previous year's AGI even though it was imported correctly. Third, my return got rejected by the IRS pending an update due 2.14. If this is the quality of the software you are releasing I will choose another package next year.
Good program, could be a little easier to use. Main issue I had was the state tax return (Maryland) tried to give the earned income credit to my daughter even though she was a dependent and only made a few thousand dollars. Couldn't figure out why, but exited the program (without filing), did some reading about Maryland law, then came back to it a few days later. Although the Maryland tax instructions don't say you are ineligible if you are a dependent, it makes no sense they would give you the EIC. Mysteriously, when opening the program later, the H&R Block software removed the EIC; her refund exactly matched the state taxes she had paid. Since I thought it strange it would give me the credit in the first place, we filed. But I was left somewhat unsettled about it.
